HEC bans MS,MPHIL admissions.
Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has banned all colleges across the country from conducting MS and MPhil admissions.
The higher education commission has said that Saudi Arabia has announced fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students.“Students residing in Pakistan and legal residents of the Kingdom both can apply for these scholarships,” the education body said. According to the eligibility criteria for scholarships, the applicant must be a Pakistani or AJK national.
A total of 75% of students will awarded scholarships from Pakistan. While 25% scholarships will given to Pakistani students residing in the Kingdom.
- HEC says affiliated colleges/institutes cannot offer MS, MPhil, PhD programmes.
- Commission advises students against taking admissions in such programmes.
- HEC warns affiliated colleges/institutes of legal action.
The affiliated colleges/institutes are also advised not to advertise the admissions in PhD and MS/MPhil/equivalent programmes. Any such action is liable to be proceeded as per law," it added.
